I dreamed of living in San Francisco in my first few years in the U.S. but soured on it when I was unable to get a rise out of any employers there when I graduated from grad school. Instead, I chose Boston. When I finally made it to the Bay Area on a visit, I wasn't impressed. San Fran appeared too cute and too precious and didn't seem to have much over Boston except for the spectacular geography. It didn't send my blood racing like New York did. Boston has lost its lustre for me and I just might be itching to move again. Last year I visited London for the first time. Can't explain it but I immediately felt that I belonged there. Unfortunately, moving there ain't feasible right now. New York would be nice but doesn't feel right at the moment. I think I might give San Francisco a second chance and the way I might do that is by skipping "The City" in favor of Oakland perhaps. Dunno...it's all theoretical still... Take the quiz: "Which American City Are You?"
San Francisco Liberal and proud, you'll live your lifestyle however you choose in the face of all that would supress you. (Via Procrastination.) So, is that a sign? --aslam PS: Apparently, it's a serious faux pas to call The City "Frisco." 10:42:13 PM |
